Originality and artistic risk are essential to cinema.
We create and support original work for film, galleries, museums, and exhibition spaces. Our focus is the kind of work that cannot easily be compared, categorized, or reduced to trends or recent releases. We are committed to uplifting underrepresented voices, emerging talent, and artists whose stories are often overlooked within traditional spaces. Through cinema and visual art, we aim to create work that allows people to see themselves, their histories, and their communities reflected back to them.
Art, womanhood, memory, and identity are deeply interconnected.
Much of our work explores womanhood, performance, history, dreams, memory, and transformation. We believe fine art has the ability to connect people across generations and experiences, creating space for reflection, conversation, and emotional depth.
The past and present exist in constant conversation.
We are deeply inspired by classic cinema, forgotten films, archival materials, and overlooked artistic histories. Through screenings, exhibitions, and programming, we strive to introduce new audiences to older works while placing them in dialogue with contemporary voices and ideas. By engaging with both the old and the new, we hope to preserve cultural memory while breathing new life into the art forms that continue to shape us.

Mixed Materials is a multidisciplinary creative studio focused on film, media, archives, and contemporary culture. We host events, workshops, and produce films and original work centered around memory, womanhood, underrepresented communities, and fine art as a catalyst for community.
